Ongoing Projects
Bombo Community Tourism Initiative
The Bombo Community-Based Tourism Initiative is a village-based tourism cluster made up of three homestays, a women handcraft group, traditional
dancers, and a mini cultural centre. COBATI implemented the project with financial support from the MTN Uganda Foundation. The initiative is
community-owned by Nubians in Bombo under their umbrella association of Uganda Nubian Consultative Forum. This project started in October 2009
and was successfully launched May 2011. We are currently in the monitoring and evaluation stage.
Get Involved!
We are looking for volunteers to support the Bombo community Tourism Initiative. Our Homestay program offers volunteer opportunities to
teach in a rural school, recycle waste into crafts, and use basic carpentry skills for building projects. Please contact
COBATI to inquire about volunteering. You can also adopt this project by making a one time or ongoing donation.
