International Workshop on Agritourism 2022

I was privileged  to speak as a panelist at the  opening plenary session of the International Workshop on Agritourism 2022, in Burlington Vermont USA from August 29th-2nd September.

The event  featured Agritourism Leaders and Innovators from 53 countries across the globe. I was invited by Dr. Lisa Chase, the conference Chair, who is also External Professor University of Vermont and Director Vermont Tourism Center.

The University of Vermont was the conference convenor.  I shared my  diverse experience with Agritourism in Uganda /Africa perspective and my community based tourism work through @cobatiuganda, I used the global platform to highlight the potential of Agritourism in Uganda and Africa as a viable tool for sustainable tourism and social economic development.

I shared the uniqueness of Uganda through  clips of scenic  countryside, happy healthy children, cultural heritage activities including banana beer brewing and the Ankole long horned cows ..

My presentation was very well recieved, I got useful contacts and I had opportunity to interact with both Dr Lisa Chase and Professor Roy Beckford  Assistant  Dean & Director University of Vermont Extension College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

I look forward to sharing my conference experience with the tourism fraternity,  farmers and the young people whom we have been mentoring through COBATI-Uganda as our partners in piloting quality Agritourism across Uganda.
